I’m Sorry/Forgiving

We all mess up sometimes, and apologies can be hard, even for adults. Saying “I’m sorry” and meaning it can be a hard thing to teach.

Practicing empathy can help kids understand how to repair a connection that has been broken. It’s okay to make mistakes, but we need to think about how others feel and understand, and take responsibility when we are wrong. In return, we also need to forgive our friends who wrong us. This is a much higher-level skill to learn so stressing the importance of love and caring for others is a good first step.
